| The Cock is reputed to be about 350 years old
and is the village's last remaining public house.
On Thursday 29th
January 2009 it
was taken over by Mel Pimblett who has lived in Henham all her life. A short time
later she managed to secure the freehold on the premises and within a year
she had turned around a business that had reached an all time low into a very
successful and vibrant 'local.'

A very important aspect of
the success has been the quality of the food. These days many pubs
which have concentrated on the restaurant side of the business have lost
that 'pub' feeling.

|
Not so The Cock.
Mel, with the help
of Steve the chef and their team have succeeded in achieving a great balance
between very good quality food at very reasonable prices and a welcoming
atmosphere for those who want a drink, chat
or just read the paper.

The Cock has two very
pleasant restaurant rooms and this room at the side which is ideal for
parties of about twenty people. |
