The Cock



The Cock is reputed to be about 350 years old and is the village's last remaining public house. On Monday 28th November 2005 it was taken over by Dave and Hilary Jaques.

This is their first public house. Previously Dave was an 'International Clay Design Modeller' which he tells me is part of the process of designing cars. Their ambition for The Cock is to continue as a village/country pub.
	Both the lunchtime and evening menus are comprehensive, sensibly priced and very good value. Should you wish to book a table in the restaurant, it is as well to telephone in advance, especially towards the end of the week and at weekends. The phone number is 01279 850 347

Salsa at The Cock Tuesday 16th January
Despite a limited turnout (compared with the numbers who had promised to come), a good night was had by all. Ruth and Alan Greene (the latter with a very bad back for which he had been at the hospital for much of the afternoon) introduced The Salsa with a 45 minute free lesson followed by a further 45 minutes of practice.
	Dave the landlord says there will be a further session in the following weeks at 8.30pm. All welcome, with partners or not.
