Henham Players came about by a chance remark by Rene Warren to Di Sammons at a New Years Day Party in 1992 when she said, "Wouldn't it be nice to have a village pantomime."  A year later in January 1993, Cinderella, produced by Di, was the first pantomime to be performed.  The Players had to borrow £300 to put on the production.  The loan was repaid in March of that year and the group have been in credit ever since.
The annual pantomime is now a village institution.  Performances take place on a Friday evening early in January, a matinee on the Saturday afternoon and the final one in the evening.  All three are usually sold out well in advance with the Saturday evening the most popular for some reason.

Since 1993 there has been a pantomime every year, including Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Mother Goose, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Magnificent Seven and Santa in Space.

There have also been a number of summer plays.
